I teach bass guitar lessons to all levels and double bass lessons to beginners.

Before I started touring, I taught full time at two music centers in Greater Buffalo, New York, and I have had touch-and-go private students over the course of my three-plus years on the road.

My teaching philosophy centers around each individual student:
I focus on separate goals for each of my students based on the goals they set.
Translation: if your goal is to play with a pick in a Ramones tribute band,
I am not going to spend three months teaching you how to pick with your fingers
and making you learn notes out of a book.
However, if your goal is to play like Flea, Victor, or Michael Manring,
or if you want to be first chair in your school orchestra,
we'll cover everything from A to Z and get you there properly;
I've got the knowledge in theory and in practice to cover whatever you want to study.
I have extensive expertise with harmonics, slapping & popping, tapping, strumming, and looping;
I have played in big bands, full orchestras, bands of all sizes and styles,
and am an accomplished solo performer, and we can concentrate on
developing the perfect pocket or playing five million notes a second; the choice is yours.
The only thing I won't do is simply figure songs out for you and tell you exactly what to play.
My thing is getting you to the point where you can figure it out on your own, and I'll give you the tools to do that.

I am now based out of Reno, Nevada. I teach both out of my home, and at MAYTAN MUSIC in Carson City.
Potential students in and around Reno, Carson City, and Tahoe are encouraged to contact me as soon as
you are interested to set up a schedule.
People in other parts of the country are encouraged to check my upcoming tour schedule to see when I'll be
close to where you live, and I will be happy to arrange a special session with you as part of my travels.


SPECIAL SESSIONS (outside of the Greater Reno area): Price will vary depending on distance from the venue
I am performing at, scheduling, and how long a session is requested-
These sessions are somewhat like one-on-one seminars, and are generally no shorter than 2 hours.

All lessons are paid for in advance on a month-to-month basis;
you pay at your first lesson of the month, and nothing for the rest of the month..
